You’d be forgiven for thinking that XRP holders would be delighted that the cryptocurrency has hit a new all-time high. But its passionate fanbase, the XRP Army, is “furious” that it’s taken seven years to get there—thanks to the protracted legal battle between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Ripple.

XRP Army members took aim at the regulator for “artificially holding back the asset with a lawsuit that hurt retail investors the most.” Indeed, the court battle still isn’t officially over, and many XRP investors are determined to cling on to the cryptocurrency for the long haul, in anticipation of further highs to come.

“The XRP Army is still not HAPPY,” one member told Decrypt. “We are angry, very angry about what happened.”
