Would President Trump be willing to divest from his personal crypto projects to help push forward crypto legislation and satisfy criticsāincluding lawmakers on both sides of the aisleāwho say such entanglements are getting in the way?
Decryptās Sander Lutz put the question to the president himself on Friday during a White House briefing. While Trump didnāt give a firm answer, he did say that his crypto industry involvement predates his decision to run for president again this time around, and credited himself for rising momentum around the digital assets industry.
āI donāt care aboutā¦ I have my kids, and they invest in different things. They do believe in it,ā Trump said as part of his response. āBut Iām president, and what I did do there is build an industry thatās very important. And you know, if we didnāt have it, China would.ā
