Warsh keeps traders guessing 🤔

The new Fed chair has abandoned his predecessor's forward guidance approach, keeping his cards close to his chest on interest rate changes.

📝 What you need to know

All eyes were on Friday’s Jackson Hole meeting and new Fed chair Kevin Warsh’s inaugural keynote—but signifying a change in direction, he played his cards close to his chest on the Fed’s upcoming moves.

The practice of forward guidance, hinting at coming interest rate changes, had “overstayed its welcome,” he said, with traders making moves based on Fed hints instead of raw economic data—leaving the Fed and the market caught in a “hall-of-mirrors.”

The upshot of which was that crypto traders were left with little to go on—though the merest hint that the Federal Reserve still has "work to do" to curb inflation was hawkish enough for traders to briefly sell off Bitcoin.

SOL next move: Pump to $160 or Dump to $40?
$160 50%50% $40

Why it matters
Solana is up 44% in August—its best month since 2024—closing in on $105 after Thursday's binding governance vote to double the network's disinflation rate passed by a hair. SIMD-550 accelerates SOL's path to fixed 1.5% inflation by 2029 rather than 2032, cutting ~18.9M SOL from supply, per CoinDesk. From $105, the market prices essentially coin-flip odds—$160 needs a 52% rally, $40 needs a 62% drop.
