Donā€™t jinx it, but Bitcoin might just be about to break a long-standing curse. With one day to go before the end of the month, Bitcoin is up 7.33% for September, putting it just ahead of 2024ā€™s 7.29%ā€”yielding the best returns since 2013.

In that respect, itā€™s mirrored other assets, with the S&P 500 also averaging a loss in September since 1945, attributed to factors including vacations and tax loss harvesting.

The past month hasnā€™t been a particularly stellar one, with BTC opening the month around $78,500 after its August surge. Since then, itā€™s clawed its way up despite the failure of the Clarity Act to pass the Senate, the worst day for spot Bitcoin ETFs since June, and the Fedā€™s first rate hike since 2023. Currently, Bitcoin is ranging, with Treasury yields sitting near multi-year highs and oil prices hovering around $100 a barrel.
