Former U.S. President Donald Trump tried to ban Bitcoin during his term, but was stopped by his Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin, according to an executive from Block Inc who claims to have been invited to the meeting.
Mike Brock, CEO of Block-owned decentralized finance company TBD, argued that Trumpās current pro-Bitcoin stance was insincere, and simply āan easy fundraising and constituency win for him.ā In 2019 Trump professed himself ānot a fanā of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
Brockās firey series of tweets comes on the heels of a warning from Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin against supporting "pro-crypto" candidates who may be making superficial promisesādrawing criticism from pro-Trump figures in the crypto space.

š¬ Quote of the Day
"Trump doesnāt give a shit about Bitcoin. Heās sized up a bunch of people who he saw as an easy fundraising and constituency win for him. He will walk into the White House and immediately begin the process of doing to them, what heās done to every other constituency heās courted: leaving them out to dry."

Decentralized oracle provider API3 has announced the launch of the OEV Network, billed as āthe first on-chain solution to recapture oracle extractable value (OEV) for lending protocols.ā
Now live and fully integrated with the API3 Oracle Stack, the OEV Network is a layer 2 platform that aims to establish an efficient market for oracle updates.
āInstead of competing in blockspace auctions to get your transaction included first, searchers will compete for the right to perform oracle updates that allow for liquidations, with the proceeds of these auctions being programmatically returned to dapps,ā said API3 Strategy Lead Ugur Mersinlioglu, adding that it could enable dapps to recapture āmulti-million dollar opportunities.ā
