U.S. President Donald Trump reported more than $1.2 billion in earnings from various crypto ventures in his annual financial disclosure, as well as sizeable crypto holdings. Trump disclosed holding over $50 million in Bitcoin and between $5 million and $25 million in Ethereum, alongside earnings of over $635 million from his official meme coin.
Trump’s crypto ventures remain a point of contention among American lawmakers, with Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) accusing him of “profiting off the crypto industry.” The pushback could have implications for crypto legislation, with a push among Democrats for ethics provisions in the Clarity Act among the factors that’s stalling its passage.
