After a summer of selling, Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy has finally restored its holdings, with a $143 million purchase taking its stash to 847,666 BTC and surpassing June’s record holdings.
The company continues to pursue an ”active capital management framework” that aims to balance the requirement to pay out dividends on its preferred stock with the accumulation of Bitcoin. That’s seen it add new tools to its arsenal over the summer, including a USD Cash pot that enables it to buy Bitcoin, pay out preferred dividends or repurchase stock, among other things.
Despite Strategy’s resumed buying streak, traders on Myriad, the prediction market owned by Decrypt’s parent company Dastan, don’t rate the firm’s chances of reaching 1 million BTC by year’s end, putting just an 8% chance on that outcome.
