Solana is on course for its best month since 2024, as its SOL token reclaimed $105 for the first time since January. The rally lands as Solana validators prepare to vote on whether the network prints less SOL and burns a lot more of it, with traders pricing in a supply squeeze before the vote closes.

SIMD-550 would double Solana's disinflation rate—the yearly pace at which new-token issuance shrinks—from 15% to 30%, while SIMD-553 would split Solana's transaction fee into a base "inclusion fee" that pays the validator, and a new "resource fee" that gets destroyed outright. That, in turn would see Solana’s daily burn ramp from around 650 SOL to as much as 9,000 SOL.

On prediction market Myriad, owned by Decrypt’s parent company Dastan, traders have turned bullish, with a market on whether SOL’s next move would take it to $160 or $40 now down to a coin toss, from 70% bearish at the start of the month.
