One step closer, Firedancer.
Jump Crypto’s long-awaited Solana validator client, which is used to keep the network secure, reached two big milestones today: An early version of it, dubbed Frankendancer, has made it onto Solana mainnet. And Firedancer itself is currently running on Solana’s testnet.
The news was announced by Jump Crypto’s Chief Science Officer Kevin Bowers at Solana Breakpoint in Singapore. Issuers with validator clients have been behind some of Solana’s network outages and at the center of debates among developers about how best to prevent them.
The celebratory vibes among traders pushed Solana’s SOL up above $150 earlier today—the highest it’s been since the end of last month, according to CoinGecko data. And on Thursday, Solana Labs took the wraps off of the Seeker, its anticipated follow-up to the Saga smartphone.
