No token plans, says Pump.fun 💊
Pump.fun vowed no stealth coins or hype-fueled drops, after an auto-minted token originating from Base's X account sparked a trading frenzy before collapsing.

📝 What you need to know
Solana meme coin factory Pump.fun has vowed not to launch any coins or participate in “stealth launches,” after an auto-minted token experiment by Coinbase’s layer-2 network Base sparked controversy.
Alon Cohen, co-founder of Pump.fun, made the declaration in response to the unofficial “Base is for everyone” token. The token, which was automatically minted from Base’s official X account through on-chain social protocol Zora, surged and then collapsed in value.
Pump.fun may be treading carefully, having seen its own share of controversy in recent months. Last year, it axed its livestreaming feature after users performed stunts involving threats of self-harm and unsafe behavior. The incident even filtered through into popular culture, with the new series of Black Mirror featuring a Pump.fun-esque livestreaming platform.
