There’s nothing complex about Elon Musk’s love of Dogecoin.

DOGE has been surging in recent days, with each key leg in the pump coinciding with some comment Musk made about it. He’s been doing this for years, and when someone asked about it at one of his pro-Trump rallies on Sunday, he explained why—and yes, it’s just for the memes.

“I’m actually not actively involved in crypto,” Musk said. “I make Dogecoin jokes and stuff because I just kind of like Dogecoin—because it’s got the best sense of humor and it has dogs and memes, and I love all those things.”

As it has so many times in the past, DOGE spiked on the mention, reaching a four-month high price of nearly $0.15. It’s up 25% over the past week now.
