A Monero committee member has hit back at allegations implying that the privacy coin's transactions can be traced.

Has privacy coin Monero been cracked? Thatās what a recently leaked Chainalysis presentation to the IRS implied, but a Monero committee member has pushed back against the blockchain analytics firmās claims.
Moneroās Csilla Brimer told Decrypt that Chainalysis had only been able to trace XMR transactions because it set up its own Monero nodes, arguing that āMonero users must run their own Monero nodeā or use privacy-focused web browser Tor for maximum security.
Itās not the first time that someoneās claimed to have cracked Monero, and the cat-and-mouse game between privacy projects and the authorities looks set to continue. Crypto exchange Binance recently delisted Monero, while the UK government has singled out privacy coins as ānot conducive to the public good.ā
