Institutional investors are shifting focus away from short-term profit and towards diversifying their portfolios, according to a new report from Swiss digital asset bank Sygnum. Some 57% now regard portfolio diversification as the primary driver for investing in crypto assets, something the report’s authors called “evidence of crypto assets growing into a strategic, long-term asset class.”

In the short-term, a shift in Ethereum's spot order activity suggests that institutional investors are accumulating ETH at discounted prices, a pattern that often marks the start of “trend reversals or late-stage compression phases before major upswings,” analysts told Decrypt.
