The price of Bitcoin is up today, hitting $69,320 on Saturday morning as former president Donald Trump heads to Nashville to speak at Bitcoin 2024 in less than two hours. (BTC is trading at $68,470 as of writing, according to CoinGecko data.) His 30-minute appearance caps off a conference of bold, bullish declarations for the top cryptocurrency.

Microstrategy founder Michael Saylor said the U.S. government should hold most of the world’s Bitcoin, before declaring on stage that Bitcoin will see a market cap of $280 trillion by 2045. But Edward Snowden cautioned attendees to “don’t join a cult,” warning that elections rarely bring meaningful change and that privacy remains under constant threat.

💬 Quote of the Day

“The future of the country is in cyberspace, and Bitcoin is, in essence, ‘cyber Manhattan.’ The way you back the dollar is you buy Manhattan for a piece of paper and trinkets, and you buy it before it's worth hundreds of trillions of dollars.”

Michael Saylor, MicroStrategy
