Ethereum has made some truly substantial upgrades over the last couple years, from the Merge shifting the network to a more environmentally friendly proof-of-stake model to this yearās Dencun upgrade substantially cutting layer-2 network fees.
Whatās next? Itās called Pectra, and it wonāt be one drop but at least two parts, splitting up some of the various features across multiple waves in 2025 and potentially 2026 too. Pectra is poised to bring some serious quality-of-life improvements, including more flexibility in how we pay for gas fees and more benefits for validators.
