Ethereum posted double-digit gains Friday morning, soaring to highs above $2,400 in the wake of the network's Pectra upgrade.

The price of Ethereum jumped by over 20% Friday morning to highs of over $2,400, as crypto markets rallied on news of a US-UK trade deal and Bitcoin topped $103,000.
Ethereum was further bolstered by the success of the Pectra upgrade earlier this week. Billed as the āmost ambitious upgradeā the network has ever implemented, Pectra includes a number of improvements designed to enhance Ethereumās scalability, efficiency, and usability.
Elsewhere, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent railed at the Senateās blocking of the GENIUS stablecoin bill, accusing lawmakers of voting to āstonewall U.S. ingenuity.ā
The billās defeat casts a pall of uncertainty over U.S. oversight of stablecoins, throwing a spanner in the works of the Trump administrationās effort to pass digital asset legislation ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
