Epstein invested in Coinbase 😬

A newly released email shows that Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehsam saught to meet with Epstein in NY to discuss the investment.

📝 What you need to know

The U.S. Department of Justice released millions more files Friday in the case of Jeffrey Epstein, and as Decrypt reported Monday, the files include emails that show that the convicted sex offender was an early investor in Coinbase.

The crypto exchange has yet to comment publicly on the matter or respond to Decrypt’s request, but the emails show Epstein putting about $3 million into the company, arranged via Tether co-founder Brock Pierce and his venture firm, Blockchain Capital.

The investment was acknowledged in a December 3, 2014 email in which Ehrsam asked to meet with Epstein in New York.
