The perils of centralization are rearing their head again Monday as a massive Amazon Web Services outage has crippled large parts of the internet—including two of the biggest crypto trading platforms, Coinbase and Robinhood.
Both platforms have faced outages over the past several hours, keeping customers from seeing their balances, buying and selling assets, and more. The irony of decentralized assets being hamstrung by centralized exchange issues isn’t lost on users, who have taken to social media to gripe about the situation. Both platforms say they’re working on restoring full access.
