BlackRock's tokenization play 🏛️

The global asset manager has launched tokenized share classes for European money market funds holding a combined $311 billion.

📝 What you need to know

Asset manager BlackRock's latest tokenization push is bringing on-chain share classes to European money market funds holding $311 billion, minted on Ethereum through JPMorgan's Kinexys and open to professional investors across 13 markets.

It comes on the heels of Monday's launch of tokenized funds recording ownership on Solana, Ethereum and Stripe's Tempo for stablecoin reserves. The firm’s CEO Larry Fink and COO Rob Goldstein have framed tokenization as "the next major evolution in market infrastructure," while BlackRock's broader tokenization strategy has seen its BUIDL tokenized money market fund reach more than $2.6 billion in AUM.

"The Odyssey" total domestic gross by August 31?
<$530M 5%$530–550M 12%$550–570M 64%21% $570M+

Why it matters
Christopher Nolan's Ancient Greek epic has grossed $395.5M domestically after 17 days—already Nolan's biggest since The Dark Knight Rises—following a $51M third weekend, per Variety. IMAX 70mm has driven 61% of grosses ($221M) and remains exclusive through September. The market's 85% probability of $550M+ reflects Nolan's characteristic holdover strength, though Spider-Man: Brand New Day's record $360M opening will compress non-IMAX screen count.
