Donald Trump is only weeks away from being sworn in for his second term, and as his White House return nears, thereā€™s potential for the pro-crypto candidateā€™s campaign trail promises to become reality.

But hereā€™s one that might be too ambitious even for the President of the United States of America: Trumpā€™s stated desire to have ā€œall remaining Bitcoin made in the USA.ā€

While new data this week shows that U.S. firmsā€™ share of Bitcoin mining is growing, topping 40%, analysts tell Decrypt that trying to take over all mining on the decentralized network is not only highly unlikely, but almost certainly impossible.

ā€œThe U.S. lacks the electrical infrastructure, physical computing hardware (mining machines), and sufficiently low energy costs to become the only place for mining all remaining Bitcoin,ā€ said Compass Mining Chief Revenue Officer CJ Burnettā€”though his firm is excited about Trumpā€™s ā€œeagernessā€ for the industry.
