Bitcoin is so mature šµ
Bitcoin hit an all-time high Friday for the third straight day, but analysts say to expect slower climbs ahead. Here's why.

š What you need to know
Bitcoin jumped to a new all-time high mark of $118,667 on Fridayāa 25% increase since the start of 2025. However, experts predict that Bitcoin's future growth will be slower and less volatile than in previous cycles.
The asset's realized volatility has significantly decreased, dropping from 100% in 2021 to 29.5% currently. This dampening is attributed to Bitcoin's maturation and the involvement of sophisticated traders making more intelligent bets, and itās impacting the coinās likelihood of making wild swings.
"Think of it like someone who's working outāa massive spike higher is like someone crash dieting to hit their weight goal, and then they just lose it three weeks later," Amberdata Director of Derivatives Greg Magadini told Decrypt. "But a slow and steady grind higher is sustainable, unlike a massive, bubble-like rally. As Bitcoin grows in market cap, it takes more money to move it around."
The derivatives market has evolved considerably, with options contracts growing from $15 billion in 2021 to over $42.5 billion now. And Bitcoin ETFs are attracting massive institutional capital, taking in more than $1 billion on both Thursday and Friday. While dramatic price swings may still occur, they're likely to be contained within tighter timeframes as Bitcoin attracts more mature institutional investors.
