Bitcoin ETFs bounce back 💸
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted their strongest weekly inflows since May, but analysts are split on whether the return of institutional money marks a genuine turn.
📝 What you need to know
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted their best weekly performance since May, drawing in $854 million across five straight sessions of net inflows last week.
But while “institutional funds have started buying Bitcoin again,” as one analyst told Decrypt, it may be premature to read the week as a reversal of market trends, with rate-hike odds not yet having disappeared, and long-dated Treasury yields still elevated.
Bloomberg’s Eric Balchunas spied a possible explanation for the sudden interest in Bitcoin ETFs: the Coldcard hardware wallet exploit earlier this month, which may have turned some away from self-custody and towards the seemingly safer prospect of a traditional financial product offering Bitcoin exposure.
