Another day, another data leak đź’§
Days after the Trezor data breach, another hardware wallet manaufacturer's customer list has leaked.
📝 What you need to know
Hardware wallet manufacturers are having a torrid time of it right now. First there was the Coldcard exploit, losses from which could top $150 million. And now, just days after a data breach at Trezor’s shipping partner left customer data exposed, SafePal has disclosed that a flaw in an order-tracking plug-in has given attackers the names, emails, and shipping addresses of some 40,000 customers.
While in both cases the wallet credentials themselves were left untouched, the breaches have left customers of what was supposed to be the safest way to store your crypto exposed to phishing attacks and even home invasions. Though it’s not just hardware wallet users who are under threat—in France, a hacker is selling a trove of tax records from a June data breach that could reveal details of crypto holders.
